SODOM & GOMORRAH: The Swarm takes flight close to home.
If you live in Monmouth County New Jersey, be advised that Mr. Pat Noble, a long-time socialist activist, is running for a seat on the Board of Chosen Freeholders. His basic platform is that democratic socialism is better than the elitist status quo.
If you live in Detroit, Mr. Matt Erard was among five candidates elected to a three year term on Detroit’s Downtown District Council on April 5. He formally took office on May 1. “Rather than continuing to subordinate the political will of the people of Detroit to the economic will of our city’s Wall Street- and Grosse Pointe Shores-dwelling overlords, the working class population of Detroit now stands exceptionally primed to lead the way in demonstrating what it means to bring the economy under the political will and democratic control of the people,” Erard said. Expect chaos.
If you live in Charlottesville, Virginia, Mr. Brandon Collins is running for city council. He also is an advocate of democratic socialism. He wants to fundamentally transform the world in order to eliminate all forms of oppression.
These people are everywhere. Until either the status quo has intelligent defenders (unlikely since intelligent people are the first to spot its rampant corruption) or the reactionary right comes up with alternatives, the socialists will continue to take over because they provide answers to the moral questions people care about.
