SODOM & GOMORRAH: Amidst fervent denials that it intends to develop weapons-grade uranium, Iran went ahead with its test of the Great Prophet 7 missile. State media reported that the launch of the mid-range Shabab 3 missile was entirely successful.

Western analysts argue that Iran has often overstated its military abilities, saying that the missiles are stil very inaccurate. Nevertheless, the tests came just as a European oil embargo went into effect. Despite Iran’s claims that it only wants uranium for energy purposes, the missile test and the continued development of nuclear technology remains a sore spot to Western powers worried about the growing influence of the Persian state.

Israel reaffirmed its committment to use force against Iran to prevent the country from completing a warhead and other countries reaffirmed their angst and displeasure at the Iranian situation. The United States has asked that Israel remain patient as new economic sanctions are put in place. Whether it’s possible to starve or bomb knowledge out of Iran is possible remains to be seen.
